Are people who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 still contagious?

A large study with more than 100,000 participants has shown that people who have been double vaccinated after infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus are less contagious than people who have not been vaccinated. In the first months after vaccination, these people were actually no longer contagious.

Vaccination was able to reduce the contagiousness of the Alpha variant better than the contagiousness of the Delta variant. After three months, contagiousness increased again in people who still became infected despite vaccination.
