Can I be vaccinated against COVID-19 with an Astra Zeneca vaccine if I have already had a thrombosis?
You can certainly be vaccinated against COVID-19 with an Astra Zeneca vaccine if I have already had a thrombosis. The way in which the vaccine causes a thrombosis in a small number of cases is not linked to the risk factors associated with the thromboses that occur in most people. It is also not necessary to receive aspirin or another medication or injection beforehand to prevent thromboses.
The thromboses caused by the Astra Zeneca vaccine only occur in 4 people per million vaccinated, which is significantly less than the number of thromboses that occur during the outbreak of COVID-19 itself.
