Can people with an allergy to propylene glycol be vaccinated against COVID-19?

Propylene glycol is an organic compound with two hydroxyl groups. It is not present in the COVID-19 vaccine. There is therefore no reason not to administer the vaccine to people with an allergy to propylene glycol. It is recommended that people with an allergy to propylene glycol report this to the vaccination center and that they stay for 30 minutes instead of 15 minutes for observation.

Propylene glycol should not be confused with polyethylene glycol (PEG). This substance is in the vaccine and people with an allergy to polyethylene glycol (PEG) should not be vaccinated.
