Is breastfeeding still possible after the vaccination against COVID-19?

Previous reports indicated that breastfeeding after vaccination was not indicated. This advice was mainly based on the fact that there were no studies testing the vaccine in breastfeeding women. In the meantime, breastfeeding is no longer a contraindication for vaccination against Covid-19 with mRNA vaccines.

Breastfeeding should not be interrupted after vaccination. These vaccines are believed to be safe because they do not contain live virus and because the vaccine components are broken down very quickly in the woman's body.
