Can't COVID-19 be transmitted between people?

Various websites that sell vitamins and supplements online claim that COVID-19 cannot be transmitted between people.

These websites claim that a virus is not a living organism. Viruses are said to be created in the cells of our body and that is why you cannot get a virus from someone else. This is of course complete nonsense!

It is true that the virus can only multiply in a host, but transmission can certainly occur from person to person. Just think of the HIV virus, which can cause AIDS, which is also transmitted between people. Influenza viruses and cold viruses are also transmitted among people.
