Can one take paracetamol at any time during pregnancy?

Paracetamol can generally be taken at any time during pregnancy. During the last months of pregnancy it is important to do this with caution and under the supervision of a doctor.

During the first trimester, organogenesis takes place, where the baby's organs form. Although acetaminophen is considered safe, it is important to minimize medication use. Always consult with a doctor before taking medication.

During the second trimester, acetaminophen is still considered safe, but it is good to limit use to the lowest effective dose and shortest duration possible

During the third trimester, paracetamol is still considered safe, but there is a risk of premature closure of the ductus arteriosus in the baby. Limit use to the lowest effective dose and for the shortest time possible.
