Which complaints should I consider related to COVID-19?
With a COVID-19 infection, at least one of the following main symptoms occurs: cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, sudden loss of smell or taste without an obvious cause. But there is also a risk of COVID-19 infection with at least two of the following symptoms: fever; muscle strain; fatigue; runny nose; a sore throat; headache; decreased appetite; watery diarrhea, acute confusion or sudden fall without apparent cause.
For children, a fever is enough to suspect COVID-19. An exacerbation of chronic respiratory complaints (COPD, asthma, chronic cough) also indicates a possible COVID-19 infection. In the above cases you should contact your doctor and be tested.
If in doubt, a test with a nose swab can provide certainty.
