Erectile dysfunction
About one man in seven has some form of erectile dysfunction. What exactly is erectile dysfunction. What can you do about it?
With erectile dysfunction, the penis is not stiff enough for optimal penetration. In mild cases, penetration is still possible, but the penis is simply less stiff. In severe cases, penetration is impossible.
The most common physical causes are: atherosclerosis caused by high blood pressure and/or cholesterol, diabetes and nerve damage after prostate surgery.
In these cases it is advisable to consult your doctor to rule out a serious underlying condition.
The most common psychological causes are: stress and depression, fear of failure and previous bad experiences and no desire for sex.
In the latter cases, a calm, good conversation is often sufficient to achieve a better erection.
Don't hesitate to discuss this problem with your doctor. This can help you and prescribe medication if necessary.
