Who can go to the doctor for 1 euro?
A number of people can go to the doctor for just 1 euro. But who can actually go to the doctor for 1 euro?
The measure only applies to people with an increased allowance. These are people with a low income (lower is 16,966 euros per year, plus 3,141 euros per family member) or with a specific benefit such as a living wage from the OCMW.
People with an income guarantee for the elderly, with an allowance for persons with disabilities or orphans, can also go to the doctor for one euro.
The sticky note from your health insurance fund will then contain a code, the last two digits of which must end with a 1, for example xx1/xx1. If this is not the case but you still think you are eligible, it is best to contact your health insurance fund.
People who can take advantage of the measure will only pay 1 euro to their GP if they have a global medical file or 1.5 euros if they do not have one. The rule only applies to consultations in the GP's office and not to home visits.
