Are eggs healthy after all?

Until recently, it was recommended to eat no more than 2 to 3 eggs per week. But recent recommendations cast doubt on that. But how many eggs can you actually eat?

Eggs contain a lot of cholesterol and eating a lot of eggs and all other fats was previously associated with an increase in cholesterol in the blood and therefore with cardiovascular disease.

It is now known that the amount of cholesterol you consume through food has only a minor influence on the cholesterol level in the blood. Saturated fats in particular appear to have a major influence. The question therefore arose whether foods such as eggs, which are rich in cholesterol but low in saturated fats, are rightly on the blacklist.

Recent research shows that healthy people can eat an egg daily without the risk of cardiovascular disease. But people with diabetes or too much cholesterol should limit their consumption of eggs to 3 per week.
