Is heat harmful to sperm quality?
Heat is indeed harmful to the quality of a man's sperm.
A man's sperm cells need to be kept in a cooler environment, so the body has made sure that the testicles are not inside the body (which is the case with a woman's reproductive organs).
It has been scientifically proven that a man's sperm quality is slower during the summer months than during the winter months.
Does the man already have slow sperm or is the quality of the sperm simply not good? Then it is indeed not such a good idea to sit in a hot bath for hours, wear tight underwear or go cycling (cycling also makes men's balls very warm). Excess is harmful, and that certainly applies if you want to have children.
