Can you get a COVID vaccine if you have a bleeding disorder?
People with a bleeding disorder (such as hemophilia, Von Willebrand disease or other bleeding disorders) can generally safely receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Administering the vaccine intramuscularly may increase the risk of bleeding in people with bleeding disorders.
It is therefore important to plan the injection carefully and take appropriate precautions such as pressing the injection site for a long time and using the thinnest needles.
