Does artemisia work against COVID-19?
In some (African) countries, artemisia is used in patients with COVID-19 to prevent serious symptoms. Artemisia has previously been used against malaria. It is administered as a tea from the plant.
The effect of artemisia against COVID-19 has not yet been tested on humans, but only in-vitro on cells infected with COVID-19. It is therefore far too premature to claim that artemisia would work against COVID-19. The use of artemisia is also not permitted in Belgium.
