Why not disinfect when administering the vaccine?
It is not necessary to disinfect before a vaccination if the skin is not visibly dirty. If the skin is dirty, it can be cleaned with soap and water. Nowadays the needles are much thinner than before, so the wound remains very small and the chance of infection is extremely small.
In countries with good hygienic conditions in hospitals, the risk of infections is minimal, even without additional skin disinfection prior to an injection. This rule also applies in European general practices, pharmacies and vaccination centers.
