Does prayer help against COVID-19?

In the United States, many people go to mass events without protecting themselves against COVID-19. They claim that they pray not to be infected. There are no studies showing that prayer helps against COVID-19. For some people, prayer will have a certain effect on the stress and anxiety they experience.

Extreme forms of long-term stress and anxiety can reduce resistance in general. But for these extreme and pathological forms of anxiety and stress, prayer will not be enough to maintain resistance. Praying in these cases will give a false sense of security and cannot be a reason not to adhere to social distancing rules.
