Can a daily sauna prevent weight gain?
Scientific research suggests that a daily sauna can help older adults, especially women, combat age-related obesity.
The researchers proved that older female mice that received a 30-minute heat treatment daily gained less weight. The study suggests that heat could help as a solution for controlling weight gain associated with menopause in women.
Heat therapy could be a solution for women with increased belly fat caused by hormonal changes during menopause. Treatment could consist of regular sessions in saunas, heated pools or with specialized heat packs.
However, further research needs to be conducted to prove that the health benefits observed in mice also apply to humans.
