Are there medications or therapies that can prevent COVID-19?
While some medicines or home remedies provide comfort and ease the symptoms of COVID-19, there is no evidence that any medicine can prevent the disease. WHO does not recommend self-medication with medications, including antibiotics, as a prevention for COVID-19. There are several clinical studies that investigated medicines for COVID-19 infection.
To protect immunocompromised patients, there are now monoclonal antibodies that are used for prevention.
