Who is at greater risk of complications from COVID-19?

From the age of 65 everyone has an increased risk. Even if you are perfectly healthy at the age of 65, there is still an increased risk.

The risk of death from COVID-19 is approximately 8 percent for people in their 70s and 15 percent for people in their 80s. The increased risk is related to the occurrence of a number of chronic diseases in this group. In particular, chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease, heart failure, diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, asthma, COPD and kidney failure increase the risk of complications and death from Covid-19.

Young people with chronic diseases such as congenital heart defects and hereditary diseases such as cystic fibrosis and muscle diseases also theoretically have a greater risk of complications and death from Covid-19. But this is not reflected in the mortality figures. THERE are only a few young people who die from COVID-19 and they usually have no underlying conditions.
