Can vitamin D strengthen my resistance to COVID-19?

There is a study showing that in some patients infected with COVID-19, T lymphocytes are below normal threshold levels.

Vitamin D manufacturers claim that they have a beneficial effect on T-lymphocytes and other immunity parameters. We must bear in mind that the effect of administering vitamin D has never been proven to prevent any infection. And this was certainly not demonstrated for COVID-19.

People who have a balanced diet and who regularly get exposed to sunlight and who do not have osteoporosis, do not normally have a Vitamin D deficiency. Supplements of this vitamin do not provide additional protection against infections.
