Can mosquitoes transmit COVID-19?

Mosquitoes cannot transmit COVID-19. COVID-19, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, is spread primarily through droplets released when an infected person coughs, sneezes or speaks. There is no evidence to suggest that mosquitoes can transmit the virus.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has clearly stated that there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be transmitted by mosquitoes. Viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 are respiratory viruses that spread through respiratory droplets and direct contact with contaminated surfaces, not through vectors such as mosquitoes.
