What do you do if you get a tick bite?

Everyone who works in the garden has been bitten by a tick at some point. Is such a tick bite dangerous and what should you do?

Ticks live in grasses and shrubs and bite the skin of passers-by. They are 3 4 mm in size and belong to the arachnids. Once they have bitten into your skin, they will squirt a little saliva into the skin and then suck in a lot of blood. This causes their bodies to swell enormously.

The saliva they inject into the skin makes the animals dangerous because they can cause Lyme disease. That is why you should remove the tick as soon as possible. This is best done with tweezers.

You should go to the doctor with a tick bite if you cannot completely remove the tick, if the tick has been there for more than 24 hours, if a red circular rash develops around the tick bite and if you start to see double even long after the tick bite, loss of strength. limbs, joint pain or other unexplained complaints.
