Does a Profhilo treatment with hyaluronic acid work against sagging skin?
A Profhilo treatment with hyaluronic acid is used against sagging skin. Profhilo is an injectable treatment that contains a unique, very pure form of hyaluronic acid that is said to hydrate the skin, make it firmer and improve its elasticity.
Profhilo contains a high concentration of pure hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body and is responsible for retaining moisture and elasticity in the skin. Instead of working like a traditional filler that adds specific volume, Profhilo spreads evenly into the skin and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. This process is known as bioremodelling, which improves the quality of the skin itself.
The treatment consists of a series of injections at specific points on the face or other parts of the body where skin laxity occurs. These points are strategically chosen to promote an even distribution of the product. A full Profhilo treatment usually consists of two sessions with an interval of approximately four weeks.
A Profhilo treatment with hyaluronic acid can be effective against skin laxity by deeply hydrating the skin. However, the effect only lasts for 6 months and must then be repeated. The effect on the production of collagen and elastin has not yet been sufficiently scientifically proven.
