Does aspirin help you get pregnant?
Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) is a commonly used drug with anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and blood-thinning properties. Although aspirin does not directly help you get pregnant, there are certain circumstances in which low doses of aspirin may be prescribed.
Aspirin has blood-thinning properties, which can improve blood flow to the uterus. This can be beneficial for implantation of the embryo. Aspirin has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation that could interfere with implantation or early development of the pregnancy.
Women with antiphospholipid syndrome have an increased risk of blood clots, which can lead to repeated miscarriages. Low-dose aspirin, often in combination with heparin, can help reduce this risk. Some doctors prescribe low-dose aspirin to women who have had multiple miscarriages without a known cause, although the evidence for its effectiveness is mixed.
There is no evidence that routine use of aspirin improves fertility in women without specific medical conditions. Aspirin can have side effects, including stomach problems, bleeding, and allergic reactions. It is important to only use aspirin under the supervision of a doctor.
Aspirin does not directly help you get pregnant, but it can be prescribed in specific cases to address certain problems that prevent a successful pregnancy. It is important to only use aspirin under medical supervision and advice.
