How does intermittent fasting work?
In recent years, many people have been choosing 'Intermittent fasting'. They eat only 8 hours a day and remain fasted for the other 16 hours. We then speak of the 16-8 diet. Other variants can also be used.
This diet usually results in weight loss. But it all depends on what you eat during the 8 hours you are allowed to eat. If you eat more than 2,500 calories during those 8 hours, you will not lose weight. Moreover, such a diet will not change your eating habits and you will gain weight again after stopping the diet.
Other health effects are also attributed to the diet, such as a clear mind. This mainly has to do with the effect that during the period when you are not eating, no digestion will take place and your brain will receive maximum blood supply.
In conclusion: Intermittent fasting is no better or worse than the other diets and its effect stops when you stop the diet.
