Is garlic good for our health?
A number of Chinese studies claim that garlic protects us against cardiovascular disease. What is true about this?
Daily use of garlic would reduce cholesterol and sugar levels. The beneficial effect is attributed to allicin, a substance that can be found in garlic.
However, the influence on cholesterol and sugar has not been generally proven and if a decrease is found, this decrease is so small that it will not lead to the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
So you can certainly eat a clove of garlic because it is tasty, but do not expect any health effects from it.
