Where does cholera occur?
Cholera mainly occurs in developing countries, especially in Africa, Southeast Asia and Haiti.
Areas with inadequate sanitation, poor water purification and inadequate hygiene are particularly prone to cholera outbreaks.
Natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes can lead to cholera outbreaks, especially if clean water and sanitation infrastructure is damaged. Cholera outbreaks are also common in refugee camps and other areas with high population density and poor sanitary conditions.
In summary, cholera is a serious infectious disease that can be fatal, but can be prevented and treated with proper sanitation, hygiene and access to clean water measures.
