Does a salmon sperm facial work?

It may sound surprising, but salmon sperm (also called salmon DNA) is used in some facials for its supposed potential skin care benefits.

The extract is said to contain nucleotides and other bioactive substances that are said to help hydrate the skin, promote regeneration and have an anti-aging effect.

Salmon DNA is said to stimulate collagen production and help improve skin elasticity, making it an ingredient in some luxury skincare products and treatments.

Although the use of salmon sperm in skincare is a niche treatment, it is becoming quite popular in some parts of the world, such as South Korea, due to its perceived cutting-edge and innovative approach to skincare.

However, it is important to realize that many unlikely claims made by beauty and health products are not based on scientific research but are mainly intended to help fill a commercial niche in the market.

Furthermore, in some people, a product containing salmon sperm - but also other products - will cause irritation/allergy that will make the skin less beautiful.
